Summer at Sk8side
As you know Jim Winter has sadly passed away and as a result we are not, at present, running our planned summer programme. This is out of respect for Jim and his family but also to enable us to give support to young people.
We will be open on Mon, Tue, Thu and Fri from 3.00-6.00. In addition we will stay open on a Tuesday evening until 9pm.
On Mondays from 3.30 to 6.00 and Wednesdays 4.30 to 6.00 we have a counsellor on site. Young people can chat to her in a group or have a private one to one if wanted. Staff are always on hand to support.
On Friday afternoon this week we will be running an art session where people can make memorial cards or pieces of art to express their feelings.
We will run a reduced summer activities programme from Tuesday 11 August for three weeks.
Every Friday (12.00-3.00) we will be running a “What Next” session specifically for those who finished Year 11 this summer. We will support young people to develop CVs, explore what they want to do in life, look into further training or apprenticeships. This session is also open to others looking for a change of direction.
I hope you are all well and taking care in this difficult time.
Deirdre
